Brittany Zern, Psy.D.
Dr. Zern’s area of expertise is in the implementation of language, academic, social skills, self-help, and behavioral programs via applied behavioral analysis for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders. Furthermore, she utilizes behavioral modification with families of children struggling with inattention/hyperactivity, noncompliance, impulse control, frustration tolerance, and failure to meet developmental milestones. In addition to individual and family sessions, Dr. Zern also provides education to teachers and other professionals on the implementation of behavioral management procedures, as well as facilitates group sessions focusing on social skills development and behavioral modification in the home.
Dr. Zern has years of experience conducting psychological assessments and evaluations, including the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) and functional analyses of behavior (FAB).
Dr. Zern recently joined our practice as a psychology resident in September 2011, after completing her internship at the Dan Marino Center, at Miami Children’s Hospital. She specializes in assessment and treatment of developmental and behavioral disorders in children and adolescents. Dr. Zern is also experienced in applied behavior analysis, and has extensive experience in providing therapy in a variety of settings (i.e., in the home, at school, and/or daycare) in order to generalize skills to the natural environment.
